{RedeS}
By Oscar Martín
Oscar Martín presents {RedeS} a light and sound installation based on a series of hardware nodes, that respond individually to an impulse with a basic behaviour pattern. When the nodes, interact with one another organise themselves into emerging behaviour patterns that are far more complex. This installation is based on the concepts of self organisation and emergency, and scientific methods those of philosophy, biology, computer science and artificial intelligence.
Oscar is a computer programmer, experimental musician and Pure Data digital luthier. His sounds stand somewhere between computer music, error aesthetics, and generative noise.
All his discography (and code) is published in netlabels like Free Software Series, Uzusounds, Drone Records, tecnoNucleo, BRRR etc.
Oscar collaborates as well as a programmer in dance pieces, performance and installations, is a member of the editorial team of Ursonate Fanzine and part of the Minipimer audiovisual research collective.
The PHONOS-IUA grant has made possible {RedeS}

KINORAW
Carlos Padial and Simón Vialás
KINORAW is a free hardware and software research and development project in the audiovisual field, that experiments around the environment Elphel Blender. Elphel is an open source hardware camera that is mainly used in scientific research, because it allows to be adapted and modified to the demands of each particular research project. Kinoraw works to take the development of this camera to cinematographic use.
Kinoraw is a small step towards the liberation of the process of cinematographic production, taking over its control allowing new and unexpected audiovisual possibilities.
The develompent of the Elphel-Kinoraw should lead towards technological independence and creative freedom but also to cultivate the audiovisual commons focusing on the contents and the required tools as well, contributing to the development of this particular tool and growing its community, making connections with other communities and users that share the same vision when it comes to film production.
Carlos Padial is an audiovisual craftsman, photographer , cinematographer and designer. Co-founder of Taller-Escuela de creación audiovisual Aventuras Visuales in Lavapiés and the last couple of years spreading the use of FLOSS specially Blender.
Simón Vialás, after working for years in audiovisual production, started to gravitate towards teaching and researching motivated by the changes and oportunities that copyleft provides in the audiovisual field. Now he is working on his PhD in communication at the UAB being his thesis a study on open documentary film production and distribution.

OMNIPRESENZ
By Daniel González Franco
Imagine yourself walking on the sands of Gold Beach (Australia) and five minutes later you are in Barcelona walking down the Ramblas without moving from your comfortable couch in Manchester (England) while you are eating cookies.
Omnipresenz has an ambitious purpose:
Through the screen of our computer not only our eyes and legs can be where we choose to, we can also control any other human being. Omnipresenz can control through the internet the actions of a human cyborg that can be anywhere on the planet. In all, Omnipresenz is a cyborg system remotely controlled by humans from their own homes, a step further other popular systems such as the Sims or Second Life. Welcome to the era of human avatars!

BRAIN WAVE DISRUPTOR
Minipimer
The brain wave disruptor is a device that has been constructed and programmed by minipimer using the pure data environment for software programming and Arduino for the hardware, one of the most popular combos for open source digital art. There are four modes to enjoy the brain wave disruptor:
Software mode: through a graphic interface. Arduino-hardware mode, using a helmet designed specially for the occasion. OSC intergalactic mode, that allows to modify remotely other disruptors and be modified by other humanoids or not, as well via OSC (Open Sound Control) . And finally session mode: exclusively designed for collective sessions with neighbors.
Minipimer is an audiovisual research and experimentation collective through streaming media with open, local and diy tools. Their work has been presented in Galicia, Madrid, Valencia, Asturias, Málaga and Murcia, and also internationally in Austria, Noruega, Perú, Chile and Argentina.

SMART CITIZEN KIT
By Alex Posada, Tomas Diez
Capturing and sharing real time data of our environment to contribute to improve life in our cities.
The Smart Citizen Kit (SCK) is an arduino based device equipped with a series of sensors that measure variables such as air quality, humidity, ambient noise, light quantity and temperature. The Kit uses geolocalization tools and free software and hardware technology, an has a solar charger and a wifi antenna for immediate upload of data to the internet.
The purpose of the Smart Citizen platform is to facilitate open tools to the smart citizenship to collect, visualize, and compare data of a certain urban environment, so that the citizens can participate actively in the creation of new urban environments that are more efficient and sustainable.

DIGITAL DIY MANUFACTURING
By blablabLAB
blablabLAB presents a state of the art-at home numerical controlled fabrication. DIY technologies are a growing global phenomenon, maninly though the Reprap project: a machine that replicates itself, so it’s also capable to multiply itself exponentially. Nowadays in Barcelona there are more than a hundred reprap machines, whilst three short years ago that kind of technology only existed in the professional field.
This kind of manufacturing means a potential change for many paradigms, basically the paradigm of capitalist production-consumerism, what theorists call the third industrial revolution.
This intellectual property paradigm is already transforming because of the effects of big scale digitalization -music, video, literature…- and is thrown to mutate in its tangible dimension (tools, furniture, sculptures…)
Emerging concepts such as crowdsourcing (not funding), prosumerism, open-hardware, etc crystallize perfectly through this sort of low cost machinery projects.
